You can also name your wolves with your dog tag and the colour of the name above them will correlate to their health; ranging from healthy white to injured red.
Dog tags function in another way than typical nametags since you can just right select a wolf to mention them with your dog tag rather than requiring an anvil.
Wolves will no rely on you for feeding them either longer. They'll go off and discover their own food. And they won't be caught up with you as long as you're mining.
They will wait around a distance from you until you finish but will still protect you from opponents if you are in peril.
Once you turn around they'll come back to you. And these wolves will also growl if an opponent is close to!
